I know I might give ya'll a hard time, but I love my black women. I have seen every singly kind of beauty and have felt every kind of love for you, ya'll are so strong. I never seen any other kind of woman do the things you do, and I'm starting to think that nobody else can. I have seen you be humble and sweet, or bossy and sassy, and black women I love it. When I look at you black women it reminds me of how much I love myself, afterall I am the product of strong black women. Ladies I know us brothers fall short sometime and don't do what we're supposed to do, but you still don't give up on us, you haven't lost faith in us. Coming up, my pops wasn't in the house, so my momma (strong black woman) had to pick up the slack, as a young boy I used to wish I had a dad in the house, to do those manly things with me. My Momma saw this and she knew my pain, so to compensate, on Fridays she would tuck her hair into a cap and wear jeans and tennis shoes, and she would take us to the park and play ball with me and stuff, she used to call herself Mr. Man when she was in charecter, I will never forget that and no group of people has ever cared for me and showed me love like my black women. Coming up it was just me and my sister, I wanted a big brother like on t.v. but I never had one, though my sister is one of the most dainty and frail people I know, she alwayes did and still does protect her baby brother. Black women are so multi-talented, I don't want to be surrounded by anyone else, I like tacos or chinese food as much as the next man, but nobody can cook a meal like a black woman. Who do you know that can stand over some hot grease, talk on the phone, talk to someone in the room, cut her eyes sharper then a razor, smile sweeter then a candy apple, change a diaper, and blow a kiss and still not mess up her hair, but a black woman. I wrote another blog about how complicated women are, thats true, thats because its so many different parts to you, you're so multi-demensional. You're diverse, like the different shades of your skin or the different lengths of your hair. Black women you don't need any fake hair, nails, eyes, breast, or none of that, no other breed of woman can roll over in the morning with her bandana half way on her head and still look astonishingly beautiful. Black women to me are the most beautiful in they're natural state, all of you from the petite woman to my plus sized divas. Kiss me, I love your round honey coated full succulant lips. Now we know black women can dance better then any other women, but no other women can walk to a rythem like you, twist your hips, walk in 6 inch hills, with a purse full of mace on her shoulder, and talk her phone, that is so sexy. I can keep going forever, but I don't want to bore you, I just had to say black women I love you. My house is full of black women and they say home is where the heart is, so that means that, Black Women you are my heart.

Thanks for reading everybody, make sure you put plenty of comments and kudos

ORIGINALLY ON MY MYSPACE

ITS ALL GOOD 9/11/06

SO I WROTE THIS ONE 3 YEARS AGO AFTER A MOTIVATING SERMOR AT MY CHURCH GREATER KING DAVID B.C.

Bless HIS Holy Name, Giving respect to pastor decon and members, OK sit down I got a story to tell.....
Romans 8:28:
28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Thank YOU Jesus, ya'll gotta excuse me, you know how I get when The Spirit just come over me. OK yesterday I was sitting in Chruch and Pastor John E. Montgomery had a story to tell, and it just touched me so I had to bring it to yall. "Its all Good" a saying heard all to often but not that many people really understand what it means and neither did I until yesterday. Keep in mind the precedding passage as you read the story below:

A missionary traveled to Afrika to preach the Gospels and the WORD of GOD, amongst the crowd was a young prince and his best friend, the missionary spoke from Romans 8:28 "And we know all things work together for good to then that love GOD, to them that are called according to HIS purpose...So for the Believers, Its all Good" well the prince paid no mind to the missionary, but his friend was shaken deeply and adopted the saying, "Its all Good" as his motto. So the two went about their bussiness and whenever the friend was encountered with burden he would repeat, Its all Good, the prince never paid him much mind, eventually the prince's father the King died promoting the prince to King. The new King then made his best friend his right hand man, the friend said, "Its all Good". Over time the King became aggravated by his friend alwayes chanting his motto. One day the King and his court went hunting and his best friend armed his gun for him and handed it to the king and said "Its all Good" the king took it and tried to shoot the animal, but his gun backfired and blew off 3 of his fingers, his bestfriend immediately came to his aid. He was tending to the Kings wounds and to comfort the King he bandaged him and said "Its all Good", the King was enraged! He then casted his friend into the dungeon, the friend, behind bars said "Its all Good" the King simply turned and walked away. Three years went by and the King not allowing himself to be defeated got back on the hunting trail along with his court. While they were hunting they were captured by a tribe of cannibals. The cannibals stripped them down and strapped them up, then they began casting members of the court into boiling water preparing them to be eaten. All the members of the court had been boiled to death and now it was time for the King, they began cutting him down and one grabbed his hand, he paused in amazement and saw that three of his fingers were missing, he was spooked, the cannibals began discussing things amongst themselves they cut the King down and casted him out of their village. The King was baffled so he found his way home and went straight to the dungeon, he saw his friend still with joy in his heart and a smile on his face, the King told him what had happened, and his frined told him, "King Its all Good, you see the cannibals didn't eat you because they saw that you weren't whole, and its considered superstition to eat what isn't whole so, Its all Good, you see I am whole in every sense of the words so I would have been swallowed up by the enemy if I had been with you, I was saved by being imprisoned for 3 years, so you see King Its all Good!!"

Maybe that didnt move you, maybe it was boring or didnt make any sense but it touched and rocked me, and its my duty as a Believer to let you know that "Its all Good" so you when you see me saying, Its all Good even when it doesn't look like it, Im not using any street slang, I'm telling you that GOD already got it all worked out for me, I dont know what its go look like in the end but I know its going to be marvellous so you see my brother my sister, ITS ALL GOOD!

Told by Pastor John E. Montgomery, retold by Kendrick Slan

Because the Bible tells me So -2/13/09

THIS IS AN OLDER BLOG, ORIGNINALLY ON FACEBOOK, ABOUT SOME BIBLE VERSES I QUOTED IN A FORUM. CHECK IT OWT:

BECAUSE THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO
BY KENDRICK SLAN

Ok first of all I’m writing this note because of my Soror Angela who requested I did so before the night was over. So if you’re owt of the loop and you don’t know, the deltas had a magnificent forum about the restoration of the black woman. I made some comments about The Bible stating blueprints for a woman to live her life, how she should act, dress, what jewelry, what to say etc. Any dudes that may read this, this can serve as a guide what to look for in a woman. So if you will take a few minutes to read my little note, I’m no Biblical expert or pastor, just a college student with problems that’s trying to do right. It’s important that if you call yourself a Christian and you believe the Bible to be the word of God transcribed by man, then don’t make the excuse that the writers of the Bible are biased or sexist or prejudged because its not. So all the passages from the Bible come from the English Standard Version of the Bible at http://bible.com, so it’s all real, there no exaggerations. I’m going to start from the beginning so enjoy.

Genesis 2:19-25 20The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam[there was not found a helper fit for him. 21So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22And the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. 23Then the man said,
"This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

KS: This is a very intimate verse for me, I can even recall it from my aunt’s wedding when I was at the tender age of 3 and the music that seemed to go on forever. “Flesh of my flesh…Bone of my bone” playing millions of times in my head, and the words meant nothing at the time, they just stuck. Notice in the second sentence, “but for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him”, don’t be dense and get offended thinking that God made women to be helper, think of it more in the sense of one who aids, not always man and wife, just man and woman. Think of it as when Jesus was walking to his crucifixion and he could no longer carry His cross, even Jesus needed help. So it’s a very humble gesture to be a man that will receive help from his gift from God. So he made woman as the rest of what man needed to be complete, both playing opposite roles doing opposite jobs, complementing one another by being what the other lacks.

Long Hair Don’t Care:

1 Corinthians 11:2-15 2Now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you. 3But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. 4Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, 5but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven. 6For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. 7For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man. 8For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. 9Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10That is why a wife ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. 11Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman; 12for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God. 13Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a wife to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him, 15but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering.

KS: Allow me to speak on a little history for a second. This verse may not make much sense if you haven’t read much Biblical history. In this time it was a customary in the Old Testament and New Testament Times for women to cover their head while in the presence of God, in Church, or in some cases at all times, sexist? Well the practice exiss today in a few different forms, such as Islamic women constantly keeping themselves covered, which is also for the purpose of not tempting men with their beauty, which I will get to later. For us black folks, it exist in most cases in another way, you ever seen those old ladies or the deaconess with those big fancy hats in Church on Sundays? Well this chapter in the Bible is where the practice comes from. Eventually the practice went from all women to just a causal audience who took part in the customary head coverings, same is true for the little girls who get baptized. So what this boils down to is women’s hair should be long to serve as the customary head coverings which date back over 4000 years, if their hair is short then it says they are to cover it. It’s interesting the justifications for men not covering their heads, to be a title that’s hard to live up to, “For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God.” Also I must state that the order given is not necessarily a hierarchy of importance in God’s eyes but rather the chronological order of creation. It’s a cycle, but all things are from God as stated, and that’s what is important to keep in mind. And the hair thing is between you and God.

This next verse is one of controversy,
1 Corinthians 14:34-37

34 the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. 35If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. 36Or was it from you that the word of God came? Or are you the only ones it has reached? 37 If anyone thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that the things I am writing to you are a command of the Lord.

KS: This is a verse of interest because of the first eight words. Which is a problem because there are a lot of female preachers nowadays who take offense to this and a lot of traditionalists who take offense to the female preachers because of this. Now I will be the first to tell you that I have heard words come owt of women’s mouth which could only have came from God; however, the words or unmistakable, that’s another issue. What I will address is the tradition of the women gossiping in Church. We have all seen those old ladies in the parking lot talking about each other, so don’t act surprised to find owt that God knew about it 2000 years ago. My inference is that there were a lot of people chattering in Church, and their excuse was, that they were asking their husbands a question regarding religion, and that kind of disorderly conduct in public made the women look bad for not being able to hold her piece, like that loud chick in the movies or something. But you ask well how am I supposed to act?

Dress
1 Timothy 2:9-15

9likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, 10 but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. 11Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve; 14and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. 15Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.

KS: Now take it easy parcheezy, you don’t have to be a nun. When the book refers to gold, pearls, and braids, this was the cream of the crop of the time. So pay special attention to the beginning of verse 9 when they say, “adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control,” these spiritual values are more important than the temporal listed after the statement. Verse 11 simply says don’t be a know it all, we have had class with black females and lets call a spade a spade, when you think you know something you think you know it. It simply says, learn quietly and don’t be so quick to have a sharp tongue, and verses 13 to 15 are just inspiring.

Awe-Inspiring

1 Peter 3

1Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, 2when they see your respectful and pure conduct. 3 Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— 4but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. 5For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, 6as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening. 7Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

KS: Do I need to elaborate? This says it all? There’s no wrong way to take this one. Ok I planned on putting a lot more stuff in this, but this took me awhile to get together, so I’ll just leave u with this inspiring poetry in Proverbs 31:10-31 as given by King Lemuel to his son while talking about women.

The Woman Who Fears the LORD

10 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. 11The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. 12She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. 13She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. 14She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar. 15She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens. 16She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. 17She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong. 18She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night. 19She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle. 20She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy. 21She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet. 22She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple. 23Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land. 24She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant. 25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. 26She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. 27She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29"Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." 30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.

**HEY SO IF U LIKED IT FEEL FREE TO COPY AND PASTE IT WHEREVER JUST DON’T TAKE MY NAME OFF OF IT OR CHANGE IT GOD BLESS

RE-BLOG

Ok I always thought the whole phonomenon of blogging was just a bunch of shallow people who weren't smart enough to get published by a company but still were empty enough to result to anything to have people care about what they think. And to a certain extent, it still is in my mind. Only since my initial ponderings on the subject I have since decided to immerse myself in my own American popular culture, which explains my recent explosion onto "Twitter". But a guy with as many fascinating ideas as I have has ofcourse blogged before, and I am going to dig up some of those older ones from other places, just to build up my repitour. So I hope people give a flying fuck about what I think, otherwise I am just like all the other empty commentless bloggers on the internet.
